Lil Wayne‘s The Carter V may be in limbo, but the prolific rap weirdo isn’t done sharing free music in the meantime. Fresh off of the January 20 release of free mixtape Sorry 4 the Wait 2, Wayne has signaled plans for a new album, implicitly titled The Free Weezy Album.
No other details were available. Given that Sorry 4 the Wait 2, though scattershot, still showed Wayne in some of his most giddily word-drunk form in years, another new full-length would definitely be welcome. He’s in the midst of a dispute with his longtime label home, Cash Money, a feud that has brought a much-needed bit of narrative context back to his rapping.
Since Sorry 4 the Wait 2, Wayne has sued Cash Money for $51 million, claiming it broke his contract by failing to pay him millions he was owed. There could be still more fresh Weezy on the way: DJ Drama recently posted a photo of himself, Wayne and Mack Maine with a caption including the phrase Dedication 6, raising speculation that Wayne is about to unveil the latest installment in his Dedication mixtape series.
