First there was a Game of Thrones mixtape; then Sigur Rós tackled the same “Rains of Castamere” track The National had already aced a few years earlier. Now we’ve got word of Irish actor Kristian Nairn (better known as Hodor on the hit HBO show) launching his very own “Rave of Thrones” tour in Australia next month. As pointed out by Mixmag, Nairn is actually a respected deep house DJ, so his late summer trek is looking to combine that with a costume party. Naturally.
“Hodor’s dedication to carrying Bran on his back has become legend but what is less well known is how much he enjoys carrying the party vibes long into the night,” Falcona wrote in a press release. “An established DJ in his homeland, Hodor of House Stark will be showcasing some of the deepest house from all seven kingdoms at his very own Rave of Thrones.
The tour’s promoters continued, “Unlike the Red Wedding, these soirees will be remembered for seasons to come for all the right reasons. For one night only in every capital across this land venues will be transformed into the finest halls of Westeros, wherein patrons will be (enforced by the hand of the king) dressed to the occasion in a manner that would befit Queen Cersi herself. The evening includes a very special visual GOT themed set from Lord EGO himself plus a range of surprise guests and garnishings … Whatever character or creature you choose to become for the night rest assured that all alliances and rivalries will be left at the gates to celebrate all things Game Of Thrones and all that is Hodor!”
