If Kanye West had any grand notions for surprising fans with a 2015 North American tour announcement, it seems Rihanna might have just spoiled them. According to SPIN, the singer is hosting an online auction for her charity, the Clara Lionel Foundation, and one of the top items up for grabs is the “Kanye West Tour Experience,” coming courtesy of Roc Nation.
It’s a bit strange given that Yeezy hasn’t confirmed any upcoming dates, but here’s what the auction — which has a starting bid of $15,000 and ends December 11 — offers: “Be Kanye West’s special front row VIP guest for his upcoming North American 2015 tour. Experience a rare opportunity meet & greet with the icon.” It also includes, VIP tickets “in city of your choice to a Kanye West concert date on his upcoming 2015 tour,” a meet and greet, a pair of Yeezy’s “in your size,” and autographed merchandise.
A lot of Kanye news should be taken with a grain of salt, but it would be foolish on Rihanna and Roc Nation’s part to offer up a deal like this if there wasn’t a tour in the works. And, with all the ways artists are trying to keep fans on edge these days, it could very well be a teaser-video equivalent for a tour announcement that also helps raise money for a good cause. After all, reports indicate that the Yeezus follow-up is coming soon, and judging by Kanye’s performance during yesterday’s surprise World AIDS Day concert in New York, he’s not rusty at all. In the meantime, there’s always this incredible spliced-up video of fan footage from the Yeezus tour to tide fans over.
