D’Angelo‘s powerful Saturday Night Live performance over the weekend was a tough act to follow. The live comedy institution will return with a Sunday night special on February 15 at 8 p.m., with a star-studded cast of actors and musicians. Kanye West, Justin Timberlake and Paul McCartney are all booked to appear.
They’ll join Eddie Murphy, returning to the show for the first time in more than three decades. Others announced for the show include Chris Rock, Tom Hanks, Bill Murray, Jim Carrey, flawless Beyoncé lip-syncer Will Ferrell, Robert De Niro, Adam Sandler, Jerry Seinfeld, Mike Myers, Tina Fey, Jack Nicholson, Amy Poehler, Peyton Manning, Betty White, Maya Rudolph, Dana Carvey, Steve Martin, Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg.
West was the center of a viral meme at last night’s Super Bowl when fans took a selfie with him looking unamused. West’s wife, Kim Kardashian, appeared in a selfie-themed commercial during the game. The SNL special’s involvement of both West and McCartney raises the prospect the two will perform some of their recent collaborative music, such as “Only One” and Rihanna-led “FourFiveSeconds.”
