Kanye West‘s health has become a topic of concern this week. The Yeezus rapper hurried to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon in Australia, according to unconfirmed reports from celebrity gossip sites. Whatever the case, he was out in time to perform that night in Melbourne as scheduled.
TMZ claims West went to an emergency room suffering a migraine headache after playing basketball. Doctors reportedly released him after deciding his condition was minor. According to Australian site Woman’s Day, which cites a woman who said she was in the hospital when West arrived with his entourage, doctors were worried about a possible seizure. TMZ’s sources dispute this.
West’s label reportedly declined to comment. He went on to perform as scheduled at the Rod Laver Arena. There, the G.O.O.D. Music boss put on a 24-song set, with an encore including two performances of “Blood on the Leaves” and three of Jay Z collaboration “Niggas in Paris,” according to Setlist.fm.
Thursday was a day off from West’s seven-stop Australian tour. He still has three shows left Down Under, including a gig in Sydney on Friday. The string of Australian dates was originally scheduled for May, but West pushed back the jaunt. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, concert promoter Live Nation said at the time in a statement the postponement was “due to unexpected timing requirements to finish his highly anticipated new studio album, scheduled for a 2014 release.”
