Julian Casablancas Announces New Album With the Voidz

Hanging out with Daft Punk last year appears to have rekindled Julian Casablancas’s love affair with synth-laced ’80s music. As revealed on his Facebook account this morning, the Strokes frontman has wrapped a new record with a too-cool-for-school band called the Voidz. No word on when it’ll be released through his Cult Records imprint, but the Pac-Man/heavy-metal parking lot references in the trailer below points to a sound that probably won’t be too far removed from Casablancas’s last solo album, 2009′s Phrazes For the Young
