Jessie Ware has confirmed that her new “Tough Love” single is in fact the name of her next album. Due out later this year through PMR/Interscope, the effort was largely produced by BenZel (a.k.a. Benny Blanco and Two Inch Punch), with the rest of its tracks coming from such genre-jumping producers/co-writers as Julio Bashmore, Miguel, James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco, and the inescapable Ed Sheeran.

“I’m so proud of Devotion and I have such a romantic memory of how it was made,” Ware told Pitchfork recently, referring to her debut record, “but I didn’t really know what I was doing then. I was scared. I doubled my vocal quite a lot; I almost didn’t want people to hear too much of my character. But my vocal is more laid-bare on this one. I’m definitely not belting the whole way through, but I branched out more — hopefully I’ll be able to sing the bloody album live.”

It’ll be interesting to see how the rest of the record compares to its title track. As you can see below — right under the record’s album art — it’s more of a slow-burner, letting Ware’s voice do the talking more than any sort of bombastic dance beat…
