As promised, Jessie J unveiled her official “Bang Bang” video with Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande after MTV’s Video Music Awards last night. It’s a little disappointing frankly, a covert Beats commercial with awkwardly synced vocals and a nagging sense that director Hannah Lux Davis couldn’t get the A-listers together in one place for too long. (Only one sequence — a rooftop scene near the end, straight out of a mid-’90s action movie — features the three of them together.)

“I heard [Nicki is] very wary but with this she only heard it once and knew it was something special,” Jessie J told SPIN when asked about the song’s inception. “When I heard her verse, and I heard Ariana’s verse, I just cried. I was so thankful for the opportunity. Over the past few years, the success and everything … Sometimes you don’t like what you’re doing and other times you’re like, ‘Oh my god.’ I think I was tired, I always cry when I’m tired.”

Whether or not you’re into its neon-hued dance numbers, the video still classifies as an carefully choreographed event, enough that several fake versions of it are floating online and racking up hundreds of thousands of hits. The fake Ariana Grande VEVO account responsible for this messy mash-up is particularly egregious. For now, you can find the official premiere at; a public YouTube clip should be posted tonight around 8 p.m. EST.
