“It’s hard to say what will end up on the record, but it’s exciting times,” James Blake told Billboard at Bonnaroo over the weekend, referring to the sessions for his second album.

The singer/producer went on to say that he’s about halfway done with the songs, some of which are being written with Chance the Rapper, Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon and — if everything goes according to plan — his old buddy Kanye West.

“I have been in contact with him,” Blake said in a separate Rolling Stone interview earlier this year. “Honestly, I spend so much fucking time talking about Kanye West and Chance and Drake. People ask me so much about it, but really up until this point, I haven’t had any time to act on any impulse, so all I can say is we’ll see and watch this space but there’s things coming. I’m really excited. My monotonous tone of voice won’t show you that, but I’m excited.”

When Blake was asked about other guest MCs on the record, he added, “I’m not sure there’s any fucking point in telling you because it just ends up on a website and then people think it’s happening and it doesn’t happen and then I feel like a shit.”

Well alright then. Here’s his entire Billboard interview…
