Grimes has kept herself quite busy this summer. While she was playing Governors Ball, guesting on Bleacher’s track “Take Me Away,” and popping up in Haim’s video for the remix of “My Song 5,” Claire Boucher and her brother Mac found time to direct the video for her new single “Go.”

Originally written for Rihanna, who took a pass, Grimes decided to release the track as her “summer jam.” It features Blood Diamonds, who Boucher previously collaborated with as L$D for “DONT SMOKE MY BLUNT BITCH.”

And it seems like she might have had a few cinematic reflections in mind while creating the video’s concept; the black-lit dance scenes invoke the club car from summer indie Snowpiercer, while the desert backdrop full of streaming banners and masked men is reminiscent of some dream sequences in psychological thriller The Cell.

There’s still no word on a release date for the follow-up to Visions, although we’re certainly eager to hear more news about her next LP.
