Festival anticipation season is getting into full swing. Yesterday, Coachella announced its 2015 headliners would be Drake, Jack White and AC/DC. This morning, Governors Ball Music Festival revealed Drake would be tops on its bill, too, joined by the likes of Björk, Lana Del Rey, My Morning Jacket, Deadmau5 and the Black Keys.
The three-day event, now in its fifth year, runs from June 5 to June 7 at New York City’s Randalls Island. In a welcome twist, “Weird Al” Yankovic — who made a triumphant return last year with Mandatory Fun — will also be on the bill. Other big names: Florence + The Machine, Flying Lotus, Charli XCX, St. Vincent, Tame Impala, Chromeo, Ryan Adams, Death From Above 1979, Conor Oberst, the Decemberists and Noel Gallagher’s Flying Birds.
The lineup still offers plenty of noteworthy acts lower on the bill, including White Lung, Future Islands, the War on Drugs, Sturgill Simpson, Rustie, Ratatat, Hot Chip, SBTRKT, Twin Shadow, Sharon Van Etten, Marina and the Diamonds, MØ, Little Dragon, DIIV, Kiesza, Atmosphere, Strand of Oaks, Mayer Hawthorne, A-Trak, Rudimental, Gorgon City, Kiesza, ASTR, Benjamin Booker and Bishop Nehru.
Tickets go on sale Friday, January 9 at 12 p.m. EST.
Last year’s Governors Ball lineup featured OutKast, Jack White, the Strokes, Vampire Weekend and Skrillex, among many others.
