This morning Sony Music International announced that legendary artist and producer Giorgio Moroder had signed a deal with their label and would be releasing 74 Is The New 24; his first solo album in over 30 years. The long-awaited follow-up to 1992′s Forever Dancing will be released in Spring 2015.

Moroder is famous for collaborating with Donna Summer on many of her hits; including “Love To Love You Baby,” “Hot Stuff,” “I Feel Love” and their Grammy Award-winning song “Carry On.” He’s often credited with being one of the “founders of disco.” He’s also responsible for the soundtracks to movies such as Scarface and Midnight Express, in addition to the scoring of The Never Ending Story and Superman III.

More recently Moroder collaborated with Daft Punk on their album Random Access Memories, began hosting DJ sets and announced plans to stage a disco-themed show in Las Vegas.

74 Is The New 24 will feature guests Britney Spears, Sia, Charli XCX, Kylie Minogue, Mikky Ekko, Foxes and Matthew Koma with more to be announced shortly.

And just to give us an idea of what’s to come on the new album, Moroder also released a video for the title track via The Creator’s Project.
