The imminent release of Flying Lotus’s new album — You’re Dead!, which is due out in a couple weeks through Warp — isn’t keeping the producer from padding his resume with new projects. As revealed by NOWNESS, FlyLo recently cut six exclusive tracks for a short film starring Noomi Rapace (Prometheus, the Swedish version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) and the body cast designs of British artist Aitor Throup. Over the course of seven distinct chapters, the pair explores Throup’s New Object Research process and how it’s mirrored in the murky identity politics of actors.

Or as he puts it in an artistic statement, “The result is an extremely personal, hauntingly beautiful and subtly brutal documentation of a subject through the use of various layers of physical, literal and metaphorical processes.”
