Florence + the Machine‘s most singular gift is Florence Welch’s powerhouse voice. That was true on the British group’s tellingly titled 2009 debut album, Lungs. It was true on 2011′s more lavish Ceremonials. It was vividly true on Welch’s 2012 Calvin Harris collaboration, “Sweet Nothing.” And now the band has released a new video for a track titled “How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful.” And it’s mainly instrumental, aside from the dreamily sung title phrase. Directed by Tabitha Denholm and Vincent Haycock, the clip shows Welch and a look-alike dancing, and the orchestral overture is nonetheless a dramatic harbinger of what might be to come from the Machine. But for now, most of the air is still in those formidable lungs.
