After the official US release of The Double EP: A Sea of Split Peas this past April, we’ve eagerly been awaiting news of Courtney Barnett’s first full-length album. While there’s still no date, she hinted that it’s definitely forthcoming while covering The Breeders’ “Cannonball” for A.V. Undercover.

When asked why she chose the hit 1993 single, Barnett said, “I love that album. And actually, we went to make our album recently and I put that song on the morning of the first day of recording.”

Barnett’s timing is perfect as The Breeders begin a fall tour in St. Louis today.

Recently when Kim and Kelley Deal talked to Rolling Stone about going back on the road and the reissue of Last Splash, they revealed that they would be recording a new album with Steve Albini once the tour was complete.

New Barnett and new Breeders is most excellent news. Now let’s get some release dates, ladies.
