“Glory” is basking in more than just accolades. Common and John Legend‘s track from the Selma soundtrack has marked up big sales gains since winning the Academy Award for Best Original Song on Sunday night, as Billboard reports.
Industry forecasters indicated the track might see a 70 percent jump in sales for the week ending February 22, which includes only a few hours after the Oscars. It might sell more than 25,000 copies for the period, up from 16,000 in the previous week. Forecasters see an even bigger boost on the way in the next sales frame.
The previous best week for “Glory” came after it won in the best original song category at the Golden Globe Awards in January. The following sales frame, “Glory” moved 27,000 units. Common and Legend gave a tear-jerking performance of the songs at the Oscars. They also performed it at the end of the Grammy Awards earlier this month.
