A pair of towering figures from the past century of music are each involved with new movie projects.

Brian Eno has composed music for the drama Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, according to IMDB (via FACT). Directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon (American Horror Story, Glee), the film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and has a cast that includes Thomas Mann, RJ Cyler, Olivia Cooke and Nick Offerman, aka Parks & Recreation‘s Ron Swanson. It’s based on a novel by Jesse Andrews, who wrote the screenplay. The film has been picked up by Fox Searchlight after bidding that may have gone as high as $12 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter, though that number has since been disputed.

The legendary producer and art-rock innovator isn’t alone in working on new movies. Pioneering minimalist composer Philip Glass will write music for The Fantastic Four, director Josh Trank told Collider. Joining Glass on the score will be Marco Beltrami (The Hurt LockerScream). The movie opens on August 7 and stars Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell and Toby Kebbell.
