Bonnaroo has had piano men. This year, singing the crowd in Manchester, Tennessee a song will be the Piano Man.
Billy Joel is headlining the 2015 festival, which takes place from June 11 to June 14. Other leading names include Kendrick Lamar, Deadmau5, My Morning Jacket, Florence + the Machine, Slayer, Mumford & Sons and Robert Plant.
The lineup has some serious depth. Also performing are the likes of Run the Jewels, Belle and Sebastian, Spoon, Sturgill Simpson, Dej Loaf, Against Me!, Flying Lotus, the War on Drugs, Caribou, Courtney Barnett, Freddie Gibbs & Madlib, Mac DeMarco, Jamie xx, Shabazz Palaces, Iceage, Alabama Shakes, SBTRKT, Sylvan Esso, Pallbearer, Rustie, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Woods, Strand of Oaks, the Very Best, Tanya Tagaq, Atmosphere, SZA, Hiss Golden Messenger, Bleachers, MØ and Wondering Sound favorites Hurray for the Riff Raff. And bringing some vintage hits to the lineup are Earth Wind and Fire and Tears for Fears.
Joel follows in the ivory-tinkling footsteps of Elton John last year. Among other top-billed acts in 2014 were Kanye West, Jack White and Skrillex.
More acts will still be announced. Tickets go on sale Saturday at noon EST via Bonnaroo’s website.
