Bob Dylan completists who pre-ordered his sprawling Basement Tapes box set will find a little surprise hidden among its six discs when it’s released next week: a not-so-subtle note that promises a new album called Shadows in the Night sometime next year. Dylan first alluded to the full-length last May, when he posted a subtle, gently smoked cover of the Frank Sinatra standard “Full Moon and Empty Arms.” When Rolling Stone asked his reps about the song, they said, “The track is definitely from a forthcoming album due later on this year.”

Dylan’s latest Bootleg Series release must have derailed those plans a bit; either way, Shadows in the Night marks the icon’s first proper LP since 2012, when he released the rather bleak record Tempest. Read Andy Beta’s thoughts on that effort here, and check out “Full Moon and Empty Arms” below.
