Beyoncé and Jay Z, still crazy after all these years. Over the weekend, pop’s preeminent couple closed out their On the Run tour in Paris, with a guest appearance by Nicki Minaj. On September 20, HBO will air a concert special from the tour, which the pair has previewed with a Nancy Sinatra-channeling trailer and a Bonnie and Clyde-themed short film.
And now, Blue Ivy’s parents may have another artistic collaboration on the way. The “Flawless” singer and Magna Carta… Holy Grail rapper are partnering on a new album, reports industry figure DJ Skee, citing unnamed sources, on the recently launched Dash Radio.
“The biggest couple in music, maybe entertainment, maybe the world … they’re working on an album together,” he said. “You know who I’m talking about, Jay Z and Beyoncé. I have confirmed and talked with a couple sources. Now we all know what Jay Z did with Samsung last year. We all know how Beyoncé came out of nowhere. But this secret would top all of them, even that new U2 album.”
No other details were available just yet. Beyoncé and Jay Z have previously collaborated on 2002′s “’03 Bonnie and Clyde,” 2003′s “Crazy in Love” and last December’s “Drunk in Love.” A full-length together, though, would bring them into largely uncharted territory. Let’s hope it’s more Watch the Throne than The Best of Both Worlds.
“Even that new U2 album,” indeed.
