Beyoncé didn’t win Album of the Year at last night’s Grammys, but clues continue to pile up about another prospective full-length — a collaborative LP with her husband, Jay Z, to be exact. The first report of pop’s power couple working on a joint album came last September from industry figure DJ Skee. Now producer Detail has offered a hint of his own.
In a Grammys red carpet interview with Billboard (via Stereogum), Detail, aka Noel Fisher, suggested the Bey-Jay full-length might arrive before the end of 2015. “I’m working with a couple of new projects that I don’t want to unveil, and me and Beyoncé and Jay Z are actually doing something together this year” he said. Asked for more details, he added: “When you think of Jay and Bey together, you think ’album.’ You should already know.” Will it be here this year? “In my imaginary mind, I will work to say it’s true.”
Detail won his first Grammy when Beyoncé’s “Drunk in Love” picked up Best R&B Song at the 57th annual ceremony. For the greatest shot at a Grammy for the collaborative album, given the award show’s past trends, ‘Yoncé might want to wait until much later than this year. How does 2030 look?
