Beggars Group Unveiling ‘The Arkive’ At London’s Independent Label Market

According to NME, the Beggars Group family that includes 4AD, Matador, Rough Trade, XL and Young Turks will unveil a project called “The Arkive” at London’s Independent Label Market tomorrow between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Beggars founder Martin Mills will reportedly be on hand to sell “rare and early releases by artists including Adele, Vampire Weekend, St Vincent, Interpol, British Sea Power, Palma Violets, Dizzee Rascal, The Prodigy, The xx and The Breeders.” Considering none of those artists are that old, we sure hope the company digs a little deeper into their archives if this turns into a proper imprint, as NME seems to be suggesting it will be. (We reached out to Beggars reps for more details but haven’t heard back yet; maybe because they’re busy stocking old copies of Turn on the Bright Lights and Boy In Da Corner?)
