Organizers for the third BasilicaSoundScape festival have expanded their initial lineup to include a solo performance from Arcade Fire multi-instrumentalist Richard Reed Parry, readings from Mish Way (White Lung) and Meredith Graves (Perfect Pussy), and sets from Endless Boogie, Emily Reo, the Gamelan Dharma Swara orchestra, and Guardian Alien. Since BasilicaSoundScape is more of a loose family affair than a standard issue festival, Guardian Alien’s drummer (Liturgy co-founder Greg Fox, who played on Ben Frost’s recent A U R O R A album) will also play a few solo sets and Way will lead White Lung as part of Pitchfork’s Show No Mercy showcase on Saturday night.

As for the art side of the September 12-13 equation, Sterling Ruby has been commissioned to create “large-scale quilt-like flags as backdrops for the main stage.” Expect other examples of visual art, performance art, readings, and — this being Upstate New York and all — farm to table food throughout the weekend, which costs $60 for both days or $35 if you only want to stop by for a night. Check out more details here, and a kinda insane example of Fox’s killer drumming skills below…
