Aphex Twin has unleashed the next phase of his new project launch. Richard D. James’s logo has appeared in recent days on a blimp in London, next to New York’s Radio City Music Hall and, as Dangerous Minds points out, in a plate of Jamaican jerk chicken. Earlier today, he tweeted a link (below) to what, as Stereogum notes, appeared to be an address in the Deep Web, which isn’t indexed by conventional search engines and has less to do than you might think with a certain Death Grips album. As an enterprising Twitter user reported, the link leads to what appears to be not only a tracklist for a project titled SYRO, but also an unsettling image. If SYRO is indeed an album, it would be the first proper one from Aphex Twin since 2001′s Druqks. It’s James’s 43rd birthday today, too, so a celebration is in order.
Scroll down for the tweets and possible tracklist, also accessible here. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
UPDATE: According to Stereogum, the registrant and admin of the domain is Warp Records.
