The Savannah, GA group Triathalon whip from one end of the rock spectrum to another, sometimes within the space of a single song: “Get Back,” which is under two minutes long, starts as a roaring, grizzled rock number before it sighs across the finish line. “Brain Dead” is dreamlike and drifting, while “Kelly Slater” is a sparkling bit of jangle-pop. The band — which formed at the Savannah
College of Art and Design — flips giddily through rock history, making brief stops at surf and soul and even shoegaze. They execute all of them with a playfulness that makes Lo-Tide feel warm and winning.

[Lo-Tide will be released on October 21 on Broken Circles Records. Pre-Order today.]
